EFRAÍN BECERRA CASTAÑEDA
Pintor nacido en Cuetzalán, Pue. Mex, estudió en el Atelier Nova Escuela
Poblana en la cuidad de Puebla en donde se formó profesionalmente.
Su capacidad artística y oficio le permiten incursionar en el realismo tradicional
mexicano, convirtiéndose en un referente de este estilo.
En los primeros años de su vida convive con la sanación tradicional, practicada
por sus abuelos desde sus ancestros Nahuas-Totonaca. Esta experiencia le
inspira profundamente para representar su obra.
Su trabajo se enmarca dentro de la tendencia Escuela Mexicana con acento en
un surrealismo costumbrista. El dominio de las formas, el color, la textura y el
manejo de los elementos simbólicos son una constante en su obra.
Participa en diversas exposiciones internacionales en las que destacan lugares
como Estados Unidos, Europa y Japón. Así también en proyectos que fomentan
la cultura y el respeto a la identidad como piedra angular de cualquier
civilización.
BIOGRAPHY
Cuetzalán born painter, Efrain Becerra Castañeda studied at the Atelier Nova
Escuela Poblana in Puebla, Mexico where he trained professionally. His artistic
abilities and skills allow him to venture into Traditional Mexican Realism,
becoming a reference of this style.
Originally from a family of traditional medicine people Nahuas-Totonaca (pre-
Columbian cultures), he witnessed his grandparents’ healing work in the early
years of his life. This experience profoundly inspired his work and the themes he
represents.
His work is part of the Mexican School with an emphasis on Surrealism
Costumbrista. The mastery of form, color, texture and handling of symbolic
elements are a constant in his work.
He has taken part in various international exhibitions in outstanding places like
the United States, Europe and Japan, as well as projects that promote respect
for culture and identity as cornerstones of any civilization.

Peintre né à Cuetzalán, Mexique, Efrain Becerra Castañeda a étudié à l’Atelier
Nova Escuela Poblana dans l’état de Puebla où il a suivi une formation
professionnelle. Ses compétences artistiques et son habileté lui permettent de
s’aventurer dans le réalisme mexicain traditionnel et de devenir une référence de
ce style.
Pendant les premières années de sa vie, il vit entouré de médecine traditionnelle
pratiquée par ses grands-parents, eux-mêmes descendants de guérisseurs
Nahuas-Totonaca (cultures précolombiennes). Cette période le marque
profondément et influence son œuvre ainsi que les thèmes qu’il aborde.
Son travail fait partie de l’école mexicaine de peinture avec une emphase sur le
surréalisme Costumbrista. La maîtrise des formes, couleurs, textures et le
traitement des éléments symboliques sont une constante dans son œuvre.
Il participe à plusieurs expositions internationales dans lesquelles se distinguent
des lieux comme les États-Unis, l’Europe et le Japon. Il en va de même pour les
projets qui promeuvent la culture et le respect de l’identité en tant que pierre
angulaire de toute civilisation.
